To all the businesses and artists that took a chance on our untested abilities, to all the members and volunteers that made it happen, and to all that community members who came out to support us… thank you so much!
Hands down, everyone agrees that Garden City Park is a beautiful location. Even with the rainy, windy weather, we still can’t argue. All the festival workers agree that they were exhausted, but it was okay because they had so much fun. While we are still in the process of wrapping up the fine print for this year, we’ve already set next year’s date! Please mark July 23rd, 24th, and 25th on your calendar for the 2010 Under the Trees art festival.
We’ve already proven that we can make it happen when we all work together; now, it’s time to prove that we can make it even better. Artist applications are already coming in and guest teachers are being lined up. Interested in getting on board? Come to a GCART event planning session, noon on Saturdays at Maxwell’s Art and Treasures. Or, come meet the team at one of our board meetings, every third Thursday of the month. You can also keep your eye on the art festival tab for updates and current documents related to Under the Trees.
It is GCART’s mission to foster, enhance, and encourage artistic and cultural growth throughout the community. Along those lines, we hope that Under the Trees continues to be a fun, family friendly venue full of new experiences. Thanks again to everyone that came out and supported GCART in our efforts to bring Under the Trees to the residents and friends of Garden City.
